The Rotary Club of Fenelon Falls would like to thank all those who supported us by buying tickets on the 1970 Challenger R/T Recreation. The new owner has a classic to be proud of for many years to come.

The Rotary Club of Fenelon Falls was again very fortunate to find another 1970 Challenger for the 2008 raffle car. The car was manufactured in Los Angeles, California and later went to Washington state. It is a 340 cu. in., 4 speed, #'s matching car. It has an appraised value of $55,000.00

The car was on display at a car show on Bowmanville in June of 2007. The owner of the car at that time was Richard Sewell of Bowmanville. After admiring the car and talking to the owner a deal was struck and the car was bought by the Rotary Club.

Mr Sewell had bought the car in 2001 and brought it back from Seattle,Washington, USA. According to the Vin & fender tag the car was produced in Los Angeles and then ended up in Washington state. It was built with a 340 cu. in motor and 4 speed and a 3:91 axle. It was a plum crazy car with a white rear deck stripe,hood pins,chrome outside mirrors,rally dash and tack,bucket seats and black interior. When Mr Sewell bought the car it was painted Hemi orange with a 1971 R/T stripe on the side and custom graphics on the hood. It also had a black interior with brown inserts on the seats.

Over the next 6 years Mr Sewell totally disassembled the car and rebuilt everything including the motor (now has mild cam)disassembled the trans and replaced any worn parts and the same to the rear axle. The car was repainted Hemi orange and the R/T stripe and custom graphics were also redone. A shaker hood was added to complete the restoration. The car was restored to a better than factory finish. The underneath of the car is now completely detailed and finished as nice as the top of the car. Mr Sewell documented the process with photo's.

Since purchasing the car the Rotary Club has changed the interior to orange and black that accents the awesome restoration.
